In a penalty-filled contest that saw both teams trade blows on the scoreboard, South Sask Academy emerged with a hard-fought 6-4 victory over the Saints Pro Hockey Academy. The game was defined by special teams early and a relentless offensive push from South Sask late. The Saints struck first on the power play, with Cameron Starrett converting a setup from Jack Wheeler just over ten minutes into the opening period. They doubled their lead less than a minute later, again with the man advantage, as Wilhelm Hartmann finished a play set up by Ivan Rawluk and Jamal Caseley. But South Sask answered back before the period was out, with Carter Hopkinson getting his team on the board, assisted by Kipton Tremblay.
The second period saw the momentum swing decisively. Kipton Tremblay evened the score early, with Hopkinson and Oliver Anderson picking up the helpers. The Saints briefly regained the lead when Jack Kronewitt found the net, assisted by Mason Smith, and Jack Wheeler added another to make it 4-2. But South Sask closed the frame with a flurry. Avery Drake scored with just 51 seconds left, set up once more by the playmaking Carter Hopkinson, to pull within one heading into the final period.
The third period belonged entirely to South Sask Academy and the hot stick of Kipton Tremblay. He completed his hat trick with the game-winning goal early in the period, giving his team their first lead. Then, with the Saints pressing for an equalizer and their net empty, Tremblay iced the game with a last-second empty-netter to complete a four-goal performance and seal the 6-4 comeback win for the visitors. Despite the loss, Saints goalie Kyston Tremblay faced a barrage of 46 shots, while his counterpart Lexi Andreas turned aside 43 of 47 in a busy night for both netminders.
