The Spartan Hockey Academy 14M squad delivered a commanding performance, overwhelming the South Sask Academy with a decisive 9-3 victory in a game defined by relentless offensive pressure. From the opening puck drop, the Spartans set the tone, outshooting their opponents 17-4 in the first period alone. Jack Purdy, wearing #9, opened the scoring for the Spartans just over two minutes into the game, assisted by Liam Evely. South Sask’s Jax Throssell answered back with an unassisted goal to briefly make it 1-1, but the Spartans quickly reasserted control. Logan Boyd (#13) and Finn Inglis (#19) added goals late in the period, sending the Spartans to the intermission with a commanding 3-1 lead, a margin that reflected their complete territorial dominance.
The second period saw the Spartans extend their lead while South Sask tried to mount a response. Lincoln Ross (#14) capitalized on a power play early in the frame, netting what would stand as the game-winning goal, assisted by Sutton Ulmer. South Sask’s Avery Drake, assisted by Throssell and Kipton Tremblay, managed to pull one back for the home side, but the Spartans’ offense was simply too much. Charlie Couldwell (#4) restored the three-goal cushion before the period ended, with Ross picking up another helper. The penalty box saw frequent traffic, with infractions from both sides, including a slashing minor on Spartan Jack Purdy at the very end of the period, but the Spartans' penalty kill held firm when it mattered.
Any hope of a South Sask comeback was extinguished in a blistering third period by the Spartans, who scored four more times. Lucas Conrad (#12) and Sutton Ulmer (#27) struck just eleven seconds apart early in the period to blow the game wide open. Logan Boyd added his second of the night, a power-play marker, to complete a multi-point game. South Sask’s Jax Throssell also notched his second goal of the contest on a power play, assisted by Kelton Cross, but it was a mere consolation. Dominic Nimchuk (#10) rounded out the scoring for the Spartans, who finished with a staggering 55-22 advantage in shots. The story of the game was the Spartan attack, led by multi-point performances from Lincoln Ross (1 goal, 3 assists), Finn Inglis (1 goal, 2 assists), and Lucas Conrad (1 goal, 2 assists), who consistently shredded the South Sask defense and overwhelmed the home goaltenders throughout all sixty minutes.
