The Spartan Hockey Academy 14M squad delivered a masterclass in offensive firepower, cruising to a dominant 13-3 victory over the Rebels Hockey Academy. From the opening puck drop, the Spartans set a relentless pace, building an insurmountable lead in the first period and never looking back. The game was effectively decided early, with Drew Balderston's first-period goal standing as the game-winner, setting the tone for a night where the Spartans' attack was simply unstoppable.
The Spartans' first period was a clinic, as they exploded for four unanswered goals. Colby Lane, Sutton Ulmer, and Miller Elgar all found the back of the net in quick succession, with Elgar and Balderston capping off the early barrage. The Rebels managed a late response from Declan Joosse, but the Spartans' momentum was unshaken. The second period saw the onslaught continue, with Hunter Evaskevich, Jack Purdy, Liam Evely, and Finn Inglis all lighting the lamp. The Rebels' bench was assessed a too-many-players penalty, and Evaskevich later took a slashing minor, but the Spartans' penalty kill and even-strength play remained impenetrable, with goalie Quinten Alessio turning away every shot he faced to earn a shutout performance.
The third period saw a brief flicker of life from the Rebels, as Cole Stewart and Kobe Chalifoux scored to provide some consolation. However, any hope of a comeback was quickly extinguished by another Spartan surge. Colby Lane netted his second of the night, Balderston added another, and Evaskevich completed a hat-trick with two late goals, including a shorthanded tally after a Rebels' boarding penalty by nixon radke. Charlie Couldwell finished the scoring, assisted by Logan Boyd and the prolific Jack Purdy, who finished with a goal and three assists. The Spartans' offense was a well-oiled machine, with Purdy, Miller Elgar, and Lincoln Ross orchestrating plays, while the Rebels, despite a three-assist night from Dominik Rhode, were overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the Spartan attack.
