From the opening puck drop, the Rebels established complete control, outshooting their opponents 50-9 over the course of the game. The tone was set early, with Nolan Hnydyk opening the scoring at 13:44 of the first period, assisted by Chase Cameron. That goal opened the floodgates, as Mateo Jim, Cameron, and Emmett Brown all found the back of the net before the first intermission, giving the Rebels a commanding 4-0 lead and leaving the Wild reeling.
The second period offered no respite for the visitors. Just 12 seconds into the middle frame, Chase Cameron capitalized on a power play for his second goal of the night, with helpers from Cody Vanberg and Weston Forster.
