The Spartan Hockey Academy - 15M delivered a commanding performance, overwhelming the Riggers Hockey Academy with a 7-1 victory. From the opening puck drop, the Spartans established a relentless offensive presence, outshooting the Riggers 45-19 over the course of the game. The tone was set early when Sam Potvin found the back of the net just over four minutes into the first period, giving the visitors a lead they would never relinquish. Riggers' goaltender Hunter Laschowski faced a barrage of 14 shots in the opening frame alone, setting the stage for a long night for the home side.
The second period saw the Spartans break the game wide open. Olaf Tomiuk converted a penalty shot to double the lead and net the game-winner. Shortly after, Austin Krueger showcased his penalty-killing prowess with a shorthanded goal, assisted by Thomas Sampson. The pressure continued as Daxton Flynn-Belanger scored, with Freddie Lankester picking up the helper, pushing the lead to 4-0. The Riggers struggled to generate consistent offense against the Spartans' Ty Jagodich, who was a wall in net, and found themselves in penalty trouble, taking three minors in the period that only fueled the Spartan attack.
A brief flicker of hope came for the Riggers in the third when Duke Scrannage scored to make it 4-1. However, the Spartans immediately snuffed out any momentum, responding with three goals in a devastating three-minute span. Edward Coad, Briggs Baraniuk, and Daxton Flynn-Belanger with his second of the night all scored, with Jaxson Galarneau, Tatem Backs, and Beau Porter contributing assists. The period descended into a parade to the penalty box, with the Riggers taking five minors, including a bench minor for too many players, as frustration mounted. The final horn sounded on a comprehensive road win for the Spartans, who dominated in every facet of the game, leaving the Riggers to search for answers after a tough outing.
