The Calgary Crusaders delivered a dominant performance from start to finish, overwhelming the North Stars Hockey Academy with a decisive 10-1 victory. The tone was set early as the Crusaders unleashed a relentless attack, outshooting the North Stars 17-4 in the opening period. Dustin Cabana and Griffin Laursen wasted no time establishing their chemistry, with Cabana opening the scoring and Laursen returning the favor with just seven seconds left in the period to give Calgary a commanding 2-0 lead. That goal from Laarsen would stand as the game-winner, but it was merely the beginning of the onslaught. The Crusaders' pressure was unyielding, and North Stars goalie Benjamin Muller faced a staggering 37 shots through the first two periods alone.
The second period saw the Crusaders extend their lead and capitalize on North Stars' penalties. Cabana completed his hat trick, with his third goal coming on the power play after a hooking call against Koen Lakevold. The Crusaders' power play unit was lethal, adding another goal from Parker Terlesky just 56 seconds later. Ethan Billeck also found the back of the net at even strength, pushing the lead to 6-0 and ending Muller's difficult night in net. Abel Walters took over in goal for the North Stars, but the Crusaders' offense showed no signs of slowing down. The third period featured more of the same, with TJ Terlesky, Mark Yampolski, and Mika Hassen all scoring. Hassen added an empty-netter in the final seconds to cap off a spectacular team effort.
The North Stars managed to avoid a shutout in the final minute, breaking through on their own power play. With Corbyn Boucher in the box for tripping, Blayze Erickson converted a setup from Ryder Makranoff to get the home team on the board. It was a small consolation in a game otherwise controlled entirely by the visitors. Simon Killinger was credited with the win in net for Calgary, facing 16 total shots, while the Crusaders' top line of Cabana, Laarsen, and Nicolas LeRoux proved unstoppable, combining for multiple points in a display of offensive firepower that the North Stars simply had no answer for on this night.
