The Rebels Hockey Academy exploded for seven goals in a thrilling 7-4 victory over the HDC Bandits in a game defined by offensive firepower and special teams play. The Rebels set the tone early, outshooting the Bandits 14-7 in the first period. Jack Clement opened the scoring for the Rebels just nine minutes into the game, but the Bandits quickly responded on the power play. Charlie Joy capitalized on a man-advantage, assisted by Patrick Catellier, to even the score. The Rebels answered right back, with Blake Carruthers scoring just 27 seconds later, assisted by Taid Jones, to reclaim the lead. Cooper Friesen then extended the Rebels' lead to 3-1 late in the period, setting the stage for a wild back-and-forth contest.
The second period saw the Bandits mount a fierce comeback. Patrick Catellier scored an early even-strength goal to cut the deficit to one, and then Colton Toner took over. Toner scored two goals in the frame, one assisted by Clark MacCallum, to complete the comeback and give the Bandits a shocking 4-3 lead heading into the final period. The Rebels, however, were undeterred by the penalty trouble that plagued both sides throughout the game. They seized control in the third period, starting with a crucial power-play goal from Parker Lofstrom to tie the game at 4-4. Just over three minutes later, Lofstrom turned playmaker, setting up Nate McClung for what would stand as the game-winning goal, giving the Rebels a lead they would not relinquish.
With the momentum firmly on their side, the Rebels poured it on in the final minutes. Barrett Nellis provided a key insurance goal to make it 6-4, and Jack Clement sealed the victory with his second goal of the night, completing the four-goal third-period outburst. The Rebels' relentless offensive pressure was evident on the shot clock, where they finished with a commanding 36-17 advantage. While the Bandits' Colton Toner had a standout two-goal performance, the Rebels' balanced attack, led by multi-point nights from Jack Clement and Parker Lofstrom, proved too much to handle, securing a decisive divisional win.
