The Spartan Hockey Academy came out flying and never looked back, delivering a commanding 6-2 victory over the Stars Hockey Academy. The game was effectively decided in a blistering first period, as the Spartans scored four unanswered goals to seize control. Sawyer Tams opened the scoring for the Spartans, and the floodgates immediately opened. Nixon Haggins, George Belandis, and Drew Bateman all found the back of the net in quick succession, building an insurmountable 4-0 lead before the first intermission and putting the Stars on their heels from the outset.
The middle frame saw the Spartans extend their lead further, with Mason Piteau converting a feed from Kace Zemluk to make it 5-0. The Stars finally broke through late in the period when Easton Bolibruck, assisted by Landon Holmberg, got the home team on the board. The third period was a penalty-filled affair, with both teams trading power-play opportunities. Dane Swyripa scored for the Stars early in the period, with assists from Griffin O'Reilly and Easton Bolibruck, to provide a brief glimmer of hope. However, any momentum was quickly snuffed out when Spartan Kace Zemluk answered with a power-play goal just over a minute later, restoring the four-goal cushion and sealing the decisive win for the visitors.
The game was a physical contest, with seven minor penalties called, including multiple body checking and cross-checking infractions. Players like Remington House, Beckham Alexander, and Haci Karaibrahimovic for the Stars, and Damian Dolgov and Dexter Dutton for the Spartans, all spent time in the box. Despite a late push, the Stars could not overcome the early deficit, as the Spartans' explosive first-period offense proved to be the ultimate difference in this Hockey Super League matchup.
