The Saints Pro Hockey Academy put on a clinic from start to finish, overwhelming the Wolverines Hockey Academy with a staggering 16-0 victory. From the opening faceoff, the Saints established complete control, outshooting their opponents 54-10 over the course of the game. The tone was set early when Jasper Dakin opened the scoring just over five minutes into the first period, netting what would stand as the game-winning goal. Bowen Herman was simply unstoppable, recording a hat trick and adding two assists in a spectacular offensive display. Hunter Liu also delivered a hat trick performance, while Matt Szybunka and Ashton McAdam each contributed multi-point games in the offensive onslaught.
Despite the lopsided score, the game was not without its physical moments. Both teams combined for 11 penalties, with Saints' Cole McGregor receiving a major trip late in the third period. The Wolverines' penalty kill unit had a brief moment of success when Greyson Hayes scored shorthanded in the first period, but it was one of the few bright spots for the home team. The game grew increasingly chippy as it progressed, culminating in a four-player roughing scrum midway through the final period that saw Mason Wilkes and Oliver Cox from the Wolverines alongside Jace Filewich and Turner Mobley from the Saints all sent to the box.
The Saints' offensive machine only gained momentum as the game continued, scoring five times in the second period and adding seven more in the third. Turner Mobley and Theodore Duiker joined the scoring parade late, while Herman capped his incredible night with his fourth goal in the final seconds. For the Wolverines, it was a long night trying to contain the relentless Saints attack, with the shot counter telling the story of complete territorial dominance. The Saints' performance serves as a stark reminder of their offensive firepower as they continue their Hockey Super League campaign.
