In a back-and-forth battle that kept fans on the edge of their seats, the Stars Hockey Academy managed to outlast Northern HC in a 5-4 victory. The game started with Stars taking the early lead as Griffin O'Reilly opened the scoring midway through the first period, assisted by Cash Johnson and Conor Brand. Northern responded late in the period when Chaz Hall found the back of the net, set up by Benson Rae. The second period turned into a goal-scoring frenzy with three tallies in just over a minute. Haci Karaibrahimovic put Stars back ahead, but Northern answered immediately with Rae scoring off a feed from Hall, followed quickly by Preston Anderson giving Northern their first lead of the game. The seesaw battle continued as Matix Miller tied things up for Stars before the period ended.
The third period saw Stars regain control when Karaibrahimovic netted his second of the game, completing a multi-point night for both himself and O'Reilly who recorded his third assist on the play. Hall responded with his second goal of the contest just 22 seconds later to pull Northern even again, but that would be the final tally for the home team. The game featured plenty of physical play with Northern taking five penalties throughout the contest, including a roughing call on Jaxon Fialkowski and a high-sticking penalty against Taysen Couillonneur in the third period that limited their comeback efforts.
Between the pipes, Stars' Bowen Davis earned the win while Northern's Ryker Novak took the loss in a game where both teams generated significant offensive pressure. The contest ultimately came down to special teams and timely scoring, with Stars capitalizing on their opportunities while Northern's penalty-filled third period prevented them from mounting a sustained attack in the final minutes. The back-and-forth nature of the game provided plenty of excitement, but Stars' ability to answer every Northern challenge proved decisive in securing the narrow victory.
