The Sauce Hockey Academy and Spartan Hockey Academy 17M treated fans to a back-and-forth offensive showcase that ended in a thrilling 5-5 draw. The Spartans came out strong, capitalizing on an early power play when Renim Kaiser converted a setup from Jacob Mack just over eight minutes into the game. Axl Gustavson doubled the lead later in the period, assisted by Maxwell Kramer. The middle frame saw the Spartans extend their lead to 3-0 on a goal from Kramer himself, but Sauce finally broke through on the scoreboard. Jack Jarvis got his team on the board with helpers from Dawson Davison and Ali Elsaghir. However, the Spartans answered back in the final seconds of the period, as Chale Primrose scored with just seven ticks left, assisted again by the playmaking Kramer, to take a commanding 4-1 lead into the final intermission.
The third period erupted into a goal-scoring frenzy as Sauce Hockey Academy mounted a stunning comeback. Jacob Antignani started the rally early, cutting the deficit to two. Then, Dawson Davison took over, scoring twice in a span of just over two minutes to complete a hat trick and tie the game at 4-4. His first was set up by Jack Jarvis and Shiven Jogia, and his second came off a feed from Ioannis Tsoulamanis and another helper from Jogia. The Spartans briefly stemmed the tide when Carter Cudmore put them back ahead 5-4, but the relentless Sauce attack responded immediately. Just 31 seconds later, Brody Wilson found the back of the net, assisted by the red-hot Dawson Davison, to knot the game at five apiece, capping off a wild four-goal period for the home side.
The game was a penalty-filled affair, with Spartan's Renim Kaiser taking three separate minors and Sauce's Ali Elsaghir and Shiven Jogia also spending time in the box. The goaltending battle was intense, with both netminders facing heavy fire, especially in the third period where Sauce unleashed 15 shots. In the end, neither team could find the winner, settling for a well-earned point after a dramatic contest that saw momentum swing wildly and individual brilliance shine through, particularly from Sauce's playmaker Dawson Davison and Spartan's setup man Maxwell Kramer.
