Berry, however, wasn't finished, scoring his second of the period from Callbeck again to pull the Riggers within one heading into the first intermission.
The second period saw the Riggers capitalize on early momentum, with Ryan Mattheis burying a goal assisted by Jaxson Jevne and Vance Getzinger to tie the game at 3-3. The middle frame, however, descended into chaos with a combined eight penalties called, including two for illegal checks to the head. Amidst the chippy play, Northern's Preston Anderson restored the lead, netting his second of the game off a setup from George King and Everett Manderscheid. The physical play continued into the third period, where the Riggers mounted a fierce comeback. Zak Reslan scored early to tie the game again, and Landon Sangster gave the home team its first lead since the opening minutes, making it 5-4 with just over four minutes to play.
With time winding down, Northern's dominant line of Anderson, Tomlinson, and Manderscheid took over one final time. Tomlinson completed his own two-goal night to knot the score at 5-5, setting the stage for a dramatic winner. With just 7:35 remaining, Preston Anderson completed his hat trick, converting another feed from the playmaking Everett Manderscheid for the game-winning goal. Northern HC weathered a late push, leaning on a significant 45-23 advantage in shots to secure the hard-fought road win.
