The home side's offense was relentless from the opening puck drop, firing 14 shots in the first period alone. Augustine Paziuk was the early catalyst, opening the scoring just over three minutes into the game with an even-strength marker, assisted by Jude Fisher and Jadon Penny. The Grizzlies managed to strike back on the power play midway through the period when Egan Keir converted a pass from Sawyer Walsh to tie the game at 1-1. However, the Aces quickly reasserted control. With Rome Frost in the box for roughing, Augustine Paziuk struck again on the man-advantage, netting what would stand as the game-winning goal. Jax Chiasson added another even-strength tally before the period ended, assisted by Drew Strudwick and Grayden Patrie, sending the Aces to the intermission with a commanding 3-1 lead.
The second period saw the Aces continue to dominate possession, outshooting the Grizzlies 16-7 and extending their lead. Rhys Thompson found the back of the net, with Jax Chiasson and Braxton Madu picking up the helpers, to make it 4-1. The period was marred by penalties, including a bench minor for too many players against the Aces and an interference call on the Grizzlies' Cash Wilson, but neither power play could capitalize. The physical play escalated as the period ended, with Theodore Wells of the Aces and Tyler Ferguson of the Grizzlies both taking roughing minors at the buzzer, setting a chippy tone for the final frame.
Any hope of a Grizzlies comeback was stifled by the Aces' defensive structure and the stellar play of goalie Ayden Medeiros. Facing 26 shots, Medeiros was a wall, turning aside all but the early power-play goal to secure the win. The Aces sealed the deal in the third period when Jude Fisher scored, assisted by the two-goal man Augustine Paziuk and Benjamin Thorne, to bring the final score to 5-1. The Grizzlies' netminder, Liam Plourde, faced a barrage of 35 shots in a tough outing for the visitors. The Aces' balanced attack, with nine different players hitting the scoresheet, and a near-perfect defensive effort proved too much for the O2 Grizzlies to handle on this night.
