In a wild, back-and-forth contest, Alberta Pro Hockey outlasted the North Stars Hockey Academy 6-5 in a game that featured plenty of offense and a parade to the penalty box. The North Stars came out flying, outshooting Alberta Pro Hockey 15-11 in the opening period and grabbing an early lead when Lukas Hafso found the back of the net. Alberta Pro Hockey answered back quickly, with Julian Donald-Morin scoring the first of his three goals to tie the game. The period was marred by penalties, with eight minors called, and the North Stars capitalized on the power play as Tatum Streeter gave his team a 2-1 lead heading into the first intermission.
The second period was an offensive explosion, with the teams combining for five goals. The North Stars extended their lead to 3-1 just 25 seconds into the period on Hafso's second of the game. Alberta Pro Hockey then mounted a stunning comeback, scoring three unanswered goals. Julian Donald-Morin completed his hat trick with two even-strength markers, and Jack Arcand added another to suddenly give Alberta Pro Hockey a 4-3 lead. The North Stars refused to go quietly, however, as Hudson Murray scored on the power play to tie the game at 4-4 heading into a chaotic third period.
The final frame was defined by special teams and tension. Alberta Pro Hockey reclaimed the lead midway through the period when Tyson Haggerty scored on the power play. Despite being outshot 19-7 in the second period and 45-28 overall, Alberta Pro Hockey goaltender Maddox Wilson stood tall, turning aside all 11 shots he faced in the third to preserve the narrow lead. The North Stars pulled their goalie for an extra attacker and were rewarded when Hudson Murray scored his second of the game with just 14 seconds remaining, but it was too little, too late. Alberta Pro Hockey held on through a flurry of late penalties to secure a hard-fought 6-5 victory, a testament to their resilience and opportunistic scoring in a penalty-filled affair.
