The Alberta Pro Hockey squad used a disciplined road performance and a potent power play to secure a 4-2 victory over the Spartan Hockey Academy. Despite being outshot significantly, particularly in the first period, Alberta capitalized on their chances and weathered an early storm. The visitors struck first, with Jedrek Tokarczyk opening the scoring midway through the first period, assisted by Brayden Phills and T’leo Paul-Frencheater. Elliot Cooper then doubled the lead just minutes later, finishing a play set up by Jujhar Panesar and Paul-Frencheater, who notched his second helper of the period. The first frame was marred by penalties, with Alberta taking four minors, but the Spartan power play couldn't find an answer early on.
The middle period saw Alberta extend their lead with what would prove to be the game-winning goal. Easton Mycholuk found the back of the net, with Panesar picking up another assist. Spartan Hockey Academy finally broke through on the power play late in the period, as Chris Cepicka converted a setup from Samuel Nowak and Liam Schuyler to cut the deficit to 3-1. The game's physical nature continued, with Alberta's Griffin Evans taking a double minor for kneeing and the Spartan bench being flagged for too many men, keeping the penalty boxes busy.
Spartan Hockey Academy came out with urgency in the third, and Camden Swainson brought them within one, scoring off a feed from Chase Harris and Jad Kharfan to make it 3-2. The comeback hopes were short-lived, however, as another penalty proved costly for the home side. Just over a minute after Swainson's goal, Easton Mycholuk struck again on the power play, sealing the victory with his second goal of the night, once again assisted by the playmaking Jujhar Panesar. While Spartan Hockey Academy fired 36 shots on net, Alberta's opportunistic scoring and key special teams play were the difference in a hard-fought contest.
