The Wolverines Hockey Academy put on a scoring clinic against the Riggers Hockey Academy, cruising to a decisive 12-3 victory in a game that quickly turned into a one-sided affair. The tone was set early when Carter Stubbs opened the scoring for the Wolverines just over seven minutes into the first period. Kohen Ewaskow would add another before the period was out, assisted by Hudson Moffat, giving the visitors a comfortable 2-0 lead heading into the intermission. The Riggers showed a brief spark early in the second when Braden Quilty found the back of the net, but that hope was short-lived as the Wolverines' offense kicked into an unstoppable gear.
What followed was an absolute explosion from the Wolverines, who rattled off six consecutive goals in the second period to put the game completely out of reach. Carter Stubbs was the undeniable star of the show, completing a remarkable four-goal performance, with two of his tallies coming via assists from the dynamic Hudson Moffat. Hendrix Kraayenbrink, Sawyer Fleck—who netted the game-winner—and Sullivan Amiel all joined the scoring party, showcasing the Wolverines' depth. The Riggers managed a small counter-punch with late second-period goals from Logan Maygard and Soren Sandhu, but they were merely consolation in a period dominated by their opponents.
The third period saw no let-up from the Wolverines, who added four more goals to their tally. Kinsley Hanki, Logan Semenyna, Hudson Moffat, and Jack Milsted all lit the lamp, with Milsted's goal coming from a nice passing play involving Sawyer Fleck and Nolen Blackburn. The game was also a chippy affair, with numerous roughing penalties handed out to both sides, including multiple infractions for Riggers' Daniel Kim and Brayden Elliott. In the end, the Wolverines' offensive firepower was simply too much, as they skated away with a commanding statement win.
