The Gorillas Hockey Academy BLACK delivered a statement performance on the road, defeating the Capital City Knights 4-1 in a game they controlled from start to finish. The visitors set the tone early when Brady Anhorn found the back of the net midway through the first period, assisted by Merrick Pess. The Gorillas then broke the game open in the second period, with Wyatt Ho scoring what would prove to be the game-winner in the final seconds of the frame, followed by Parker Kornik capitalizing with just two seconds left on the clock to give his team a commanding 3-0 lead heading into the final intermission.
The second period was marred by penalties, with both teams combining for six infractions including an illegal check to the head called against Noah Chase-Morin and roughing calls against Karter Eskelson and Parker Kornik. Despite the Knights showing more offensive push in the third period, outshooting the Gorillas 9-9, they could only manage a single response when Grayson O'Connell finally put the home team on the board, assisted by Rickson Cholak. Any hopes of a late comeback were dashed when Parker Kornik netted his second goal of the game with just over a minute remaining, sealing the comprehensive victory for the visitors.
The Gorillas' offensive efficiency proved decisive, converting their chances while limiting the Knights to just 19 total shots. Parker Kornik's two-goal performance, complemented by Ryker McAvoy's three assists, powered the Gorillas' attack. While the Knights showed flashes of life in the third period, the early deficit and disciplined Gorillas defense proved too much to overcome, handing Capital City a disappointing home loss despite a late consolation goal from O'Connell.
