The Wolverines Hockey Academy rode a dominant offensive performance, led by a four-goal explosion from Carter Stubbs, to a thrilling 7-5 victory over Sauce Hockey Academy in a back-and-forth offensive spectacle. The game was a showcase of firepower from the opening face-off, with both teams trading blows in a wild first period. Sauce struck first when Harrison Vey (#16) found the net, assisted by Weston Cullen (#17), but the Wolverines responded with authority. Carter Stubbs (#8) scored two quick goals to swing the momentum, the second assisted by Jack Milsted (#91). Sauce's Jack Reid (#19) answered with a crucial shorthanded tally, assisted by Ben Block (#96), to keep the period close at 2-2.
The second period saw the offensive onslaught continue. Stubbs completed his hat trick early, assisted by Sawyer Fleck (#27), but Sauce's Bravan Blazevic (#10) responded with a solo effort to keep pace. The Wolverines began to assert control, however, as Nolen Blackburn (#44) scored, assisted by Hudson Moffat (#17), to regain the lead. Just before the intermission, Sauce's Jett Albert (#91) netted a goal to cut the deficit to 4-3, setting up a dramatic final frame. The Wolverines' shot advantage, which grew to 14-8 in the third period, proved decisive.
In the final period, Sauce's Malcolm Owens (#23) tied the game at 4-4, again with help from Ben Block (#96). But the Wolverines' depth and pressure were too much. Hudson Moffat (#17) broke the tie, assisted by Weston Tokarczyk (#41), before Carter Stubbs (#8) delivered the dagger with his fourth goal of the night, the game-winner. Moffat added an empty-netter to seal the 7-5 victory. Despite a valiant effort from Sauce, the Wolverines' relentless attack, powered by Stubbs's standout performance and a 30-19 overall shot advantage, carried the day in a game where defense took a backseat to pure offensive excitement.
