Brody Ferguson (#14) opened his account with a pair of goals, including the eventual game-winner, while Bohen Anderson (#96) and Wesley Wiens (#8) also beat the Stars' netminder to establish a commanding 4-0 lead after one. The Rebels' dominance was not just offensive; goalie Madson Venhola (#74) was a brick wall in the crease, turning aside every shot he faced in the period.
The second period saw the floodgates truly open, despite a brief response from the Stars.
