The HDC Bandits and Riggers Hockey Academy treated fans to a back-and-forth offensive showcase, culminating in a thrilling 5-5 draw. The Riggers struck first, with Dominic Beeler opening the scoring midway through the first period. The Bandits responded quickly on the power play, as Wyatt MacLeod buried a setup from Landry Umscheid and Grayson Geers. The Riggers reclaimed the lead before the period ended with a power-play marker from Caje Kshyk. The second frame saw the Riggers extend their lead, with Beeler netting his second of the game and Beckett Pierce adding another to give the visitors a commanding 4-1 advantage heading into the final period.
The Bandits, however, refused to go quietly. They stormed out of the intermission, with Emmitt Reynolds cutting the deficit just over two minutes into the third. Beckett Pierce answered for the Riggers to restore the three-goal cushion, but the Bandits' comeback was just beginning. Wyatt MacLeod scored his second of the night, followed shortly by a solo effort from Landry Umscheid. The game's intensity boiled over, leading to a series of roughing penalties and a major turning point when the Bandits' Cruise Dawe was assessed a slashing minor and a game misconduct with just over seven minutes to play. Despite being shorthanded, the Bandits completed their incredible rally when Mason Gackle found the back of the net, assisted by the red-hot MacLeod, to knot the game at 5-5 with under five minutes remaining.
The final minutes were frantic, but neither side could find the winner. The game was a tale of two halves, with the Riggers building a lead through two periods and the Bandits mounting a furious four-goal third-period comeback. Standout performances included a two-goal night for the Riggers' Dominic Beeler and Beckett Pierce, while the Bandits were led by Wyatt MacLeod's two goals and two assists and a resilient team effort to salvage a point from a three-goal deficit.
