The game opened with a furious pace as MOB's Jack McNutt scored just 31 seconds in, assisted by Jabriel Sharma and Mason Macdonnell. Riggers quickly responded on the power play with Hudson Nadeau finding the net, but MOB's Maverick Wigle answered with another power play goal late in the period. The first frame ended dramatically with Riggers scoring twice in the final 68 seconds—first from Cruz Wiederspiel and then Hadyn Dennis—to take a surprising 3-2 lead into intermission despite being outshot 11-18.
The second period became an offensive explosion with seven combined goals. MOB's Deegan Sheppard started the scoring barrage with a power play marker, followed quickly by Ryker Philpott converting another MOB power play.
