The middle frame saw the Caps continue to control the pace, outshooting Sauce 19-4. The pressure paid off when Nixon Ryan found the back of the net, assisted by Maxwell, to push the lead to 5-0. The period was marred by a parade to the penalty box for both sides, with Sauce taking four minors, including a boarding call to Carter Seabrook and a cross-check to Eli Horb, disrupting any chance for the home team to build momentum. Sauce goaltender Calum Stasiuk was pulled after the first period, having allowed four goals on ten shots, with Bennett Tice taking over in net for the final forty minutes.
To their credit, Sauce Hockey Academy showed fight in the third period, finally solving Caps goalie Russell Elliott. Thomas Jones broke the shutout bid with just over five minutes to play, scoring an even-strength goal with assists from Rory Schollar and Keaton Skinner. Elliott, however, was otherwise perfect, stopping all 34 shots he faced for a stellar win. The Caps' defense and disciplined play after building their lead proved insurmountable, as they weathered a late surge from Sauce, who outshot them 14-17 in the final period but could only muster the single goal. The victory was a comprehensive team effort for the Caps, highlighted by multi-point nights from Brody Schwartz, Lucas Mullen, and Hunter Maxwell.
