The Caps Hockey Club and Sauce Hockey Academy treated fans to a goal-filled spectacle, with the Caps emerging victorious by a 7-4 scoreline in a game defined by offensive firepower and a parade to the penalty box. The Sauce Academy struck first, with Eric Bowhay finding the net just 1:40 into the contest. However, the Caps quickly found their rhythm, spearheaded by a dominant performance from Brody Schwartz. Schwartz netted a natural hat trick, scoring at 14:17 and 1:00 of the first period to give the Caps the lead, and then again at 17:40 of the second to complete his trio. His linemate Lucas Mullen was a constant facilitator, assisting on all three of Schwartz's tallies. Krew Kehler added another for the Caps to make it 4-1, but Sauce Academy's Rory Schollar answered to keep his team within two heading into the final minutes of the second. The turning point came with just 30 seconds left in the period, as Lucas Mullen capitalized on the power play, assisted by Schwartz, to score what would stand as the game-winning goal and give the Caps a 5-2 lead.
The third period saw the Caps extend their lead on a power-play marker from Tristan Kozuki, but Sauce Academy refused to go quietly. Parker Christianson became a one-man rally, scoring twice in the frame—once at even strength and once on the power play—to cut the deficit to 6-4 and inject some late drama. The Caps, however, weathered the storm and sealed the victory with an empty-net goal from Caleb Van Brabant in the final two minutes. The game was a physical affair, with 18 total penalties called, including a double minor for kneeing on Sauce Academy's Nash Hansen in the first period. Despite being outshot 51-36, the Caps' offense was ruthlessly efficient, with Russell Elliott credited with the win in net for the home side. For Sauce Academy, Calum Stasiuk took the loss, as his team's high shot volume couldn't overcome the Caps' clinical finishing and the defensive lapses that gave up odd-man rushes and power-play opportunities.
